Need Secondary Containment and Bunds? Wholesale Safety Storage Australia Has a Spill Pallet and Drum Bund for Your Needs

Wholesale Safety Storage Australia wants to help your facility keep employee and visitors safe, the environment healthy, and your company compliant with regulations. We offer a variety of spill bunds to be used as secondary containment to ensure leaks, drips, and spills are confined before they cost your company. Important Characteristics of Secondary Containment Some industrial chemicals need a backup system to prevent leaks and drips from hurting the environment or people which is why we have regulations and procedures for secondary containment. You can trust our containment options because over 90% of our products are made in Australia and all our products meet the standards. You should regularly inspect your spill containment bund to ensure it’s ready to do its job if the primary container fails. Your system should be free of cracks, and the sump should be in good working order. You also want to double check the compatibility between the stored chemical and containment material. Your confinement system is sure to fail if the stored chemical is reactive with your bund. Any liquids, whether due to leaks or run-off, should be drained from the sump on a regular basis to ensure it remains at full capacity. Additionally, double check that the size of the sump can effectively hold the most extensive spill. The sump is where the spill is directed and stored until you can reclaim it. The volume of the sump should equal the volume of the largest tank. Rainwater should be considered if your system is outside because accumulation will limit the amount of spill it can hold. Sumps can be connected in series to contain large spills. We offer covered bunds to prevent the collection of rainwater if you have outdoor storage.

Polyethylene Drum Spill Pallet

We offer many containment products made from polyethylene including a drum spill pallet. Secondary confinement often uses polyethene because it is light-weight, inexpensive, resistant to sun damage, flexible, and has a long life. One of its most important properties is its chemical resistance because you don’t want your stored chemicals reacting with your secondary containment. A polyethylene spill pallet isn’t inert and will react with some chemicals so it shouldn’t be used for spills if your company uses diethyl ether, ethylene chloride, methylene chloride or acetylene dichloride. Polyethylene can safely capture low concentrations of hydrogen peroxide but shouldn’t be used if your company stores a 90% solution. If you store flammable liquids, we suggest using a steel drum bund which can safely contain Class 3 flammable liquids. It includes powder coating for durability and easy clean-up and has forklift channels and locking chains for safe and efficient transport. Our business is about keeping your business safe from spills and leaks which is why we offer a wide array of secondary containment solutions. We can help you determine what types of containment will best suit your needs. Contact Wholesale Safety Storage Australia, and our knowledgeable staff will be happy to help you.

Tailgate Delivery Terms and Conditions

Any additional handling or manoeuvring to get the items in to position that requires specialised equipment, such as a tailgated truck or a truck mounted forklift, is not covered by any free freight offers.

For those who are new to freight, a tailgate truck (also known as a tail-lift truck or hydraulic truck) has a rear platform which can be lowered to the ground for convenience when unloading heavy goods.  This is a requirement for unloading freight over 30kg when a forklift is not available on site to unload the delivery vehicle.  Carriers class this as a specialised delivery service, and charge a premium for tailgate deliveries.

Tailgate delivery is to the front door, carport, or closest practical delivery point as deemed by the driver. There must be reasonable vehicle access with height clearance.

Tailgate shipping adds an extra $135 + gst to shipping fees during checkout to cover costs.

NOTE: Selecting the WRONG answer in regards to tailgate shipping means the carrier may be unable to unload your items and may need to re-deliver it.  The Customer will be liable for any further charges for re-delivery should this occur.  Should you have questions or if you are unsure please contact us first.
